Current Work

These landscape images speak of subterranean, historical layers. They are imaginary cross-sections of landforms suggesting evidence of disruption and excavation, hinting at both the physical and the metaphysical. More recently, my work combines elements that reference journeying, maps and aerial landscape perspectives.

Playing with the syntax of painting and drawing in these works, I deliberately combine the delicacy of pencil, the sloshy transparency of watercolour with a stridently playful application of oil paint.

As above, all my work evolves through iterative drawing which manifests a characteristic layered graphic line and mark making.
